Learjet 45 Captain – Kolkata India

This is a 4 Pilot plane, flying 70 hrs a month on average for a private company, no charter just owner flying.


  • Minimum 500 hrs PIC time on Lr45 or 40 (NO exceptions)
  • Prefer current on type (you will be sent to school before coming to India)
  • Under 60 years old
  • Holding ICAO ATP, and current class 1 medical
  • Need to be fit enough to pass a Indian DGCA class 1 medical
  • Need to be able to study and pass a Indian Airlaw exam (not that hard)
  • Need to be a self starter who can manage and take control of situations, but be respectful of local differences and customs.

You will be required to flight plan (via Arinc), be able to complete flight paperwork (tech log and expense reports), SMS forms, weight and balance prior to flight. Standard cabin cleaning duties are also required. Indian regs require a navigation log to be completed for each flight over 30 minutes also.

The job:
This job is best suited to a person who has a grown family or no family/children. The successful applicant should have strong interpersonal skills, be a good communicator and a team orientated player. A Pilot with past International experience is preferred. Fulltime, 4 weeks vacation per year (minimum) with one return economy ticket to your home.

Flights around India mainly, but a lot of Indonesia, Singapore and Dubai trips, odd side trips to places like China , Japan etc etc.. Plane is low time, well maintained, recently refurbished, and has every option possible to a learjet. Company provides a 2 bedroom furnished apartment at Rajarhat Kolkata, all utiilities, maid for cleaning is included, just bring your clothes, some towels and pay for your food. Company provides a car and driver. Company pays recurrent training at FSI (aircraft training every 6 mths, first aid, emergency, Dg. Goods and international training), company pays for medicals (both FAA and India). Company covers you and your spouse for all medical bills in India and when at work.

Salary is USD 10 000 after tax, paid on time on the first business day of the month (into an Indian bank account you have to transfer it out)

All expenses paid in country when at work, outside India US$100-150 per day per diem paid into your bank account before the trip. Per diem during training also at $100 per day. 4-5 star hotels in all locations. Indian taxes are higher than your USA taxes, and with the dual tax agreement it covers USA Federal income tax (doesn't cover Social Security, but as a expat you can opt out of these). Contract is 1 year, renewable. Its a great company, and the owners are great people. They are a pleasure to work for.
