Deputy Head of Operations (Deputy CFI/ Deputy CP)

Moorabbin Based Flight Training Organisation - We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a qualified, safety conscious and professional person to fill the role of Deputy Head of Operations.

As we will be transitioning to a Part 142 approved academy a thorough knowledge of the new CASR legislation will be required.  The position is based at Moorabbin  Airport, Victoria.

QUALIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, OAKEY QLD

Boeing Defence Australia is now recruiting for the position of Qualified Flight Instructor (QFI) located at Oakey. The primary responsibilities of this role are to conduct flying training and ground instruction for KIOWA instructors and pilot trainees in accordance with appropriate Training Management Plans and to provide sound mentorship and coaching to Junior Kiowa Qualified Flying Instructors.

PC12/47 (non NG) Captain ( 2 Pilots needed)  – Kolkata India

This is a 4 Pilot plane, flying 70 hrs a month on average for a private company, no charter just owner flying.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 500 hrs PIC time on PC12 (NO exceptions as per the rules of India, I will only reply if you meet this requirement.. CAPTAINS ONLY TOO, we have no FO positions)
  • Prefer current on type (you will be sent to school before coming to India at FSI)
  • Prefer Flight Instructor rated Pilots.
  • Under 60 years old
  • Holding ICAO ATP, and current class 1 medical
  • Need to be fit enough to pass a Indian DGCA class 1 medical (ie no eye surgery, not too obese, blood work in normal range ..ie cholesterol etc etc)
  • Need to be able to study and pass a Indian Airlaw exam (not that hard)
  • Need to be a self starter who can manage and take control of situations, but be respectful of local differences and customs. We willing to fly in a non radar controlled environment in and through military airspace to remote airports

You will be required to flight plan (via Arinc), be able to complete flight paperwork (tech log and expense reports), SMS forms, weight and balance prior to flight. Standard cabin cleaning duties are also required. Indian regs require a navigation log to be completed for each flight over 30 minutes also. We do have an office with 2 dispatchers who will do most of the grunt work for each flight and conduct flight following.

This job is best suited to a person who has a grown family or no family/children. The successful applicant should have strong interpersonal skills, be a good communicator and a team orientated player who is willing to fly and mentor young Pilots and also be willing to fly with the owner sitting in the right seat on the odd leg (he has a PPL and Instrument rating). A Pilot with past expat experience is preferred. Fulltime position, 4 weeks vacation per year (minimum) with one return economy ticket to your home.

We are planning on this being a 7 days on 7 days off rostered position once the dust settles.

The aircraft flies solely within India (Bhubaneswar, Barbil, Kolkata, Ranchi, Delhi, Chennai are the most common destinations) . Plane has 3000 hrs total time, well maintained and will be upgraded to a NG soon. The aircrafts prime purpose is to fly to and from the airport at Barbil which is a one way, VFR airport of 3000ft, you will fly the company owners, directors and managers in accordance with our Flight Operations manuals, SMS manual and approved Flight and duty scheme.

Company provides a 2 bedroom furnished apartment, all utiilities, maid for cleaning is included, just bring your clothes, some towels and pay for your food. Company provides a car and driver. Company pays recurrent training at FSI (in addition to first aid, emergency, Dg. Goods and international training), company pays for medicals (both your foreign medical and India).

Company covers you and your spouse for all medical bills in India and when at work.

Salary is USD 8 000 after tax ($130 000 +/- per year gross plus housing etc), paid on time on the first business day of the month (into an Indian bank account you have to transfer it out).

All expenses paid in country when at work, outside India US$100-150 per day per diem paid into your bank account before the trip. Per diem during training also at $100 per day. 4-5 star hotels in all locations.

Contract is 1 year, renewable, the company encourages long term (I have been here 6 years). Its a great company, family run and they are great people. They are a pleasure to work for.

Position starts May 1. From date of hire salary will start even if not in country.
