The Role:  We are currently looking for a Deputy Chief Pilot to join our CSWAFC team full time. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated & have proven ability in ensuring superior operational standards for a flight college.  This position is also responsible for monitoring and correcting operational standards in order to ensure compliance with the Act, regulations and Civil Aviation Orders.  This role supports the Chief Pilot who has control of all flight crew training and operational matters affecting the safety of the College’s flying operations.  

  • Assist the CP in their responsibilities in accordance with CAO 82.0 (Appendix 1, sub para 3.1)
  • Promote flight safety throughout the school
  • Deputise for the Chief Pilot during times of absence
  • Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations as required by CASA.
  • Define and monitor the required quality and standard of training given by the Flight Instructors.
  • Ensure the Chief Pilot is advised on the equipment required to support training activities. 
  • Ensure all training documentation, manuals and courseware are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the College. 
  • Oversee approved ground, flight and simulator training.
  • Align with the CFI to ensure minimum KPI’s are met regarding student pass rate, client feedback, renewals, upgrades, etc. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ability to meet the Chief Pilot requirements as determined by CASA
  • University degree in business management or aviation, preferred
  • Hold a current CASA class 1 medical certificate and CPL
  • Hold a valid Grade 1 instructor rating with META and CIR or equivalent experience from an ICAO state
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Head of Operations or Chief Pilot role in a similar environment, preferred.
  • Experience in training as a flight instructor for professional pilot licenses, preferred

Philips Search & Rescue Trust

Are you an experienced pilot with over 2000hrs PIC with a desire to join New Zealand’s largest and most successful search and rescue trust?  Do you have the ability to lead and be part of a team of pilots, crew and volunteers performing inter-hospital transfers, search & rescue and medical missions?

The Rockhampton Aero Club, a leading Central Queensland Flying School and Charter Operator, is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified pilots for the position of Chief Flying Instructor, Chief Pilot and Manager.
Rockhampton has a population of approximately 70,000 people and boasts excellent educational facilities with a number of state and privately run primary and secondary schools and a large university. The city is also well known for the excellent world class sporting facilities it provides and is a short drive from the Capricorn Coast and access to the Great Barrier Reef offering beaches, sailing, swimming and fishing. There are also rainforests for the walking and camping enthusiasts and plenty of scope for 4WD enthusiasts as well. The city is also a service hub for the cattle and mining industries.
The flying school, which was established in 1930, operates both single and multi-engine aircraft and currently offers training for PPL, CPL, NVFR, Twin Ratings, Instructor Ratings and SE & MECIR/ PIFR ratings. The incumbent is also an approved ATO for PPL, NVFR and CPL. We also operate all weather charter flights to various island destinations and throughout Queensland.
The position will require you to be responsible for closely supervising all operations and for further developing the flying training and charter operations already in place.

Melbourne Flight Training is seeking a CFI for a 12 month contract. It is not intended that the contract would be renewed at the end of the term. It is intended that during the twelve month period the successful candidate would be responsible for the standard CFI duties required by CASA. They would also be mentoring the person anticipated to take on the role at the end of the contract and this may include mentoring for Testing Approval.
