Key Duties:

Fly single pilot, instrument flight rules (IFR), multi-engine helicopters on aeromedical, search and rescue, counter disaster operations and other government support tasks as directed by the Chief Pilot, Base Manager or Delegate.

Mandatory Reqirements:

  • Possession of Air Transport Pilots Licence (Helicopter)
  • 2500 hours minimum experience as a helicopter pilot.  May be reduced to not below 2000 hours providing applicant has extensive civilian or military EMS/SAR/AME/QRF experience. 
  • 1500 hours pilot in command on helicopters.

The Tasmanian Aero Club has a position available for a Chief Pilot/Chief Flying Instructor based at Launceston Airport, starting ASAP.  The position could be either full or part time.  Above all, management skills would be highly desirable along with the ability to juggle charter flights, flying lessons and staff rosters to suit varying customer requirements.

Chief Pilot/Chief Flying Instructor  

Fast Track Pilot Training is looking for a full-time Chief Pilot/Chief Flying Instructor (CP/CFI) for an immediate start, based in Perth.  
As CP/CFI you will be responsible for the management, development and oversight of a team of professional instructors delivering first class pilot training.  

You are highly motivated, have excellent organizational skills; are hands-on, flexible and adaptable to change.  

You may have been previously approved by CASA as Chief Pilot/CFI for another flight school.

Applications from candidates with CP/CFI (visual) qualifications will be considered.

Also, Grade 1 ME-CIR Instructors with the required CASA CAO qualifications for CP/CFI will be considered.

Position: Chief Flying Instructor / Chief Pilot

The Australian Air League is a nation wide volunteering organisation which aims to encourage Australian youths to pursue their interest in aviation by giving them a place to start flying. We are currently looking for a suitably qualified person to take over the position of Chief Pilot and/or Chief Flying Instructor. Our dedicated team of volunteer instructors and support staff provide training up to PPL and NVFR as well as Day VFR single engine charter. We generally operate on weekends, instructor availability permitting and run flying camps over school holidays up to two times a year. We currently own two Piper Warriors and one Cessna 152.

Minimum Requirements

Chief Pilot

  • 500 hours total time.
  • Minimum 9 months commercial experience. 
  • Does not hold the title of Chief Pilot for another organisation.
  • Current Class 1 Medical

Chief Flying Instructor

  • Grade 1 Flight Instructor Rating (Fixed-wing) with at least 1 year experience as a Grade 1.
  • NVFR rating
  • Current Class 1 Medical

Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in either position however all suitably qualified applicants will be considered. The current CFI/CP happy to assist the new applicant during the transition and where he can in the future.
