The RFDS South Eastern Section seeks to appoint a Flight Operations Manager/Chief Pilot based in Sydney.
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, the Flight Operations Manager, in addition to fulfilling the role of Chief Pilot, is responsible for leading a dedicated group of pilots operating from multiple locations to deliver a high standard of safety and operational excellence, with a focus on promoting a Just Culture and supporting a continuous process of improvement.
Working in collaboration with the General Manager Operations, Flight Training Manager, Engineering Manager and Safety Manager, the role ensures that all RFDS aviation operations fully meet the safety and service delivery standards expected by regulators and internal and external customers. A strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and the ability to operate as part of a team are essential.
The South Eastern Section operates Beechcraft B200 and B350 Aircraft from bases in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, hence interstate travel is required.
This role is a key interface for the organisation with CASA and is also a key leadership position within the Aviation Operations team.
Essential Criteria for the Role
- An Australian ATPL and Class One Medical suitable for single pilot operations
- Command Instrument Rating with 8 renewals – multi-engine
- CASA approval (or ability to obtain) to act as Chief Pilot

Corporate Aircraft Charter is seeking a motivated professional to oversee its flight operations in Adelaide and Karratha.
The Chief Pilot shall be responsible for all flight crew and for operational safety and conduct as described in Appendix 1 CAO Section 82.0 sub section 2 as well as upholding the requirements of the CAC Safety management system.
CAC operates two aeromedical Citations on contract to the oil and gas industry in Western Australia, a Beechcraft Kingair and a Cessna 402b on Charter operations throughout South Australia.
CAC is an approved CAR 217 Training and checking organisation.
Minimum requirements:

Commencing 1 January 2013 CareFlight has been selected by the NSW Government to transport the medical teams for the Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS) for the next 4.5 years.
Utilising a Bell 412EP and BK117 transportation will cover NSW back to tertiary care in Sydney, Newcastle and Canberra.
Essential:
- Previous CAR 217 Approval;
- Extensive flight instructional & night background;
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in full motion simulators;
- EMS experience,
- NVG endorsement,
- BK117, B412 endorsements.

We are currently seeking a qualified, safety conscious and professional person to fill the role of Chief Flying Instructor.
