Airspeed Aviation operates a mixed fleet of aircraft including Baron, Cessna Titan, Cessna 421 and Conquest on both single-pilot and two-crew operations. We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and motivated pilots to join the team based in the Hunter Valley in NSW.

Position: Chief Flying Instructor / Chief Pilot

The Australian Air League is a nation wide volunteering organisation which aims to encourage Australian youths to pursue their interest in aviation by giving them a place to start flying. We are currently looking for a suitably qualified person to take over the position of Chief Pilot and/or Chief Flying Instructor. Our dedicated team of volunteer instructors and support staff provide training up to PPL and NVFR as well as Day VFR single engine charter. We generally operate on weekends, instructor availability permitting and run flying camps over school holidays up to two times a year. We currently own two Piper Warriors and one Cessna 152.

Minimum Requirements

Chief Pilot

  • 500 hours total time.
  • Minimum 9 months commercial experience. 
  • Does not hold the title of Chief Pilot for another organisation.
  • Current Class 1 Medical

Chief Flying Instructor

  • Grade 1 Flight Instructor Rating (Fixed-wing) with at least 1 year experience as a Grade 1.
  • NVFR rating
  • Current Class 1 Medical

Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in either position however all suitably qualified applicants will be considered. The successful applicant(s) will be required to be assess and approved by CASA as well as undertake a working with children check. Global Express Captain/Operations Manager Aircraft:Bombardier-BBD-700 Location: Perth

A Perth based company is looking for a Global Express rated Captain to also act in the position of Operations Manager, who will be responsible for both domestic and international trip planning.

Accountabilities This role will work in a small team that all share a common goal to effectively maintain a private VIP chartered aircraft in a safe, compliant and cost effective manner while doing everything possible to maintain schedules and comfort to our passengers.

In this role your main accountabilities will include:

  • Planning international and domestic trip itineraries
  • Performance calculations
  • Visa requirements for crew
  • FBO allocation (with reference to fuel pricing and passenger priorities)
  • Ordering fuel at both domestic and international airports
  • Requesting invitation letters for airports/crew, in particular China/Russia etc
  • Liaise with the selected trip planning service to ensure all handling is arranged and overflight and landing permits are secured appropriately
  • Liaise with management and Chief Pilot for scheduling scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance
  • Organise and schedule IRTs and any other training as required including airport specific training as requested from the Chief Pilot
  • Ensure CANPASS/TSA/E-APIS compliance
  • Complete end of month reports as required

  • Licence: Valid CASA ATPL
  • Total flight time: 4500 hours (3000 PIC)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced helicopter pilot who wants a role that offers development, diversity, flexibility and stability to join our Helicopter and Agricultural Unit.  You will be joining a motivated team dedicated to positively influencing safety standards within the New Zealand aviation industry. The work involves risk-based oversight of aviation organisations operating in the helicopter and agricultural sectors to provide confidence that safety standards are embedded and being followed.  On a day to day basis you will be involved in safety promotion, operator certification, safety audits, spot checks and investigations. Please note this position is Wellington based and involves regular domestic travel.

Skills and experience

Chief Pilot   

Aviair Pty Ltd, an Aviator Group company, is a leading fixed wing aviation company operating a fleet of Cessna C208 Caravans in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of WA. The company is in the process of moving to Low Capacity RPT ASEA operations.  

We are seeking a suitably qualified Chief Pilot to be part of this dynamic company to take ownership of Chief Pilot responsibilities that are integral to the transition to LCRPT Operations. Excellent administrative skills are essential and an application will be well supported with the following aeronautical experience:  

  • 2000 hours flight time in similar operations
  • 1000 hours command in Turbine aircraft

Responsibilities: 

  • Standardisation and proficiency for each course that is taught.

  • Assist in Phase activities and provide the CFI English Assessment.
  • Act as an alternate Chief Pilot during absences of the current Chief Pilot.  

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Ability to meet the CFI requirements as determined by CASA.
  • Hold a current CASA class 1 medical certificate and CPL.
  • Hold a valid Grade 1 instructor rating with META and CIR or equivalent experience from an ICAO state.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a CFI or CP role in a similar environment, preferred.
  • Experience in training as a flight instructor for professional pilot licenses, preferred.

OPERATIONS SAFETY INVESTIGATION MANAGER  

PERMANENT FULL TIME POSITION – MANGERE AUCKLAND

The Airwork Group is a well-known aviation provider and has a unique capability to provide a full turnkey aviation service from heavy maintenance through to operations of aircraft ranging from Boeing 737’s through to light turbine helicopters.  

We have a vacancy at our Auckland Airport facility for a SMS Data Analyst to work within the Safety and Quality Assurance Team as the organisation transitions to an Integrated Safety Management System as outlined in CAA AC00-4.  

The Operations Safety Investigation Manager is key member of the Safety Systems Team and the CAANZ accepted Senior Person for Occurrence Investigations.  Reporting to the Manager Group Safety Systems with secondary reporting to the Chief Executive, this role is also the nominated deputy for the Manager Group Safety Systems under the Airwork CAR Part 119 Air Operating Certificate.  

Key Requisites  

Mandatory  

  • At least 3 years as pilot-in-command under Part 121 operations.
  • Experience in Operational Safety Investigations.  

Preferred  

  • At least 3 years as pilot-in-command on Boeing aircraft.
  • Hold a qualification in Investigations, or be prepared to qualify in this field.
  • A qualified Lead Auditor, or prepared to qualify in this field.
  • A good understanding of Risk Management and Safety Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles.
  • Experience as a Flight Instructor in Airline Operations. Have held an Operational Management Role in Airline Operations.  

Role Purpose  

  • To conduct accident and incident investigations.
  • Coordinate Operational Occurrence reporting to the CAANZ and ATSB.
  • To conduct audits, route checks, and inspections as required by the Internal Audit Plan.
  • To have awareness and oversight of Airwork’s operational performance, monitoring and promoting safety and compliance with the Airwork Flight Operations Ltd CAR Part119 Air Operating Certificate.
  • To manage the Quality Improvement System, liaising with applicable managers to ensure timely implementation of suggested improvements.
  • Produce Operational Safety bulletins that are educational and topical to promote and raise the profile of safety awareness amongst crew and operational staff.
  • Liaise with and attend meetings of the NZ Airline Flight Safety Committee and the CAANZ as required.
