The Role:  We are currently looking for a Deputy Chief Pilot to join our CSWAFC team full time. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated & have proven ability in ensuring superior operational standards for a flight college.  This position is also responsible for monitoring and correcting operational standards in order to ensure compliance with the Act, regulations and Civil Aviation Orders.  This role supports the Chief Pilot who has control of all flight crew training and operational matters affecting the safety of the College’s flying operations.  
 
Responsibilities:

  • Assist the CP in their responsibilities in accordance with CAO 82.0 (Appendix 1, sub para 3.1)
  • Promote flight safety throughout the school
  • Deputise for the Chief Pilot during times of absence
  • Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations as required by CASA.
  • Define and monitor the required quality and standard of training given by the Flight Instructors.
  • Ensure the Chief Pilot is advised on the equipment required to support training activities. 
  • Ensure all training documentation, manuals and courseware are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the College. 
  • Oversee approved ground, flight and simulator training.
  • Align with the CFI to ensure minimum KPI’s are met regarding student pass rate, client feedback, renewals, upgrades, etc. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ability to meet the Chief Pilot requirements as determined by CASA
  • University degree in business management or aviation, preferred
  • Hold a current CASA class 1 medical certificate and CPL
  • Hold a valid Grade 1 instructor rating with META and CIR or equivalent experience from an ICAO state
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Head of Operations or Chief Pilot role in a similar environment, preferred.
  • Experience in training as a flight instructor for professional pilot licenses, preferred

HELICOPTER PILOT / RELIEF BASE MANAGER

Are you an experienced pilot with over 2000hrs PIC with a desire to join New Zealand’s largest and most successful search and rescue trust?  Do you have the ability to lead and be part of a team of pilots, crew and volunteers performing inter-hospital transfers, search & rescue and medical missions?  
 
If this sounds like you then we have the right job.  We currently require a full-time Helicopter Pilot /Relief Base Manager, to be domiciled in Rotorua. The position will also involve a relief role in Tauranga and Taupo mainly but also with the requirement to work from the Palmerston North or Hamilton bases if required.
 
These three bases perform approximately 400 rescue missions per year with a significant amount of search and rescue and mountain flying involving the use of the winch and night vision goggles.
 
We are often tasked to respond in challenging environments and the successful applicant will have the necessary skills to join a team of elite pilots with first class flying skills and a proven track record of safety first.
 
Operating four Day/Night VFR AS350’s in Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo and Palmerston North and an IFR Multi-engine operation based out of Hamilton, our aircraft are outfitted with the very latest in navigation, safety technology and role equipment.
 
The role also includes supporting the base manager and support staff with maintaining and further developing relationships with our professional and volunteer crew persons, the community as well as the funders of the service.
 
The Philips Search & Rescue Trust has flown more than 20,000 patients since its inception in 1985, responding to emergency ambulance and inter-hospital patient transport requests from its five rescue helicopter bases.

CHIEF FLYING INSTRUCTOR, CHIEF PILOT, MANAGER

 
The Rockhampton Aero Club, a leading Central Queensland Flying School and Charter Operator, is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified pilots for the position of Chief Flying Instructor, Chief Pilot and Manager.
 
Rockhampton has a population of approximately 70,000 people and boasts excellent educational facilities with a number of state and privately run primary and secondary schools and a large university. The city is also well known for the excellent world class sporting facilities it provides and is a short drive from the Capricorn Coast and access to the Great Barrier Reef offering beaches, sailing, swimming and fishing. There are also rainforests for the walking and camping enthusiasts and plenty of scope for 4WD enthusiasts as well. The city is also a service hub for the cattle and mining industries.
 
The flying school, which was established in 1930, operates both single and multi-engine aircraft and currently offers training for PPL, CPL, NVFR, Twin Ratings, Instructor Ratings and SE & MECIR/ PIFR ratings. The incumbent is also an approved ATO for PPL, NVFR and CPL. We also operate all weather charter flights to various island destinations and throughout Queensland.
 
The position will require you to be responsible for closely supervising all operations and for further developing the flying training and charter operations already in place.
 
Requirements:

  • A Grade One Instructor Rating ready for upgrade to CP/CFI
  • Current Class One Medical (with min 6 months remaining)
  • ASIC
  • Australian Citizen or Residency
  • Multi-Engine training approval
  • Current MECIR
  • Current Endorsement for BN Islander and Baron (Required)
  • Minimum of six months remaining on all renewals

CFI POSITION -12 MONTH CONTRACT AT MELBOURNE FLIGHT TRAINING

 
Melbourne Flight Training is seeking a CFI for a 12 month contract. It is not intended that the contract would be renewed at the end of the term. It is intended that during the twelve month period the successful candidate would be responsible for the standard CFI duties required by CASA. They would also be mentoring the person anticipated to take on the role at the end of the contract and this may include mentoring for Testing Approval. This person is currently working within the business.
 
Requirements

  • Testing Approval for GFPT, PPL, and NVFR as a minimum. Further testing approvals would be highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a CFI of a school doing in excess of 5000 hours per annum. 

Salary
 
A highly competitive salary will be offered to attract the right person and will be based on either a 4 or 5 day week involving only occasional weekend work. The option of the four or five day week will be determined by the successful applicant.

B777/B787 CAPTAINS WITH CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES

 
China Southern Airlines is a rapidly growing airline based in Guangzhou, China, and requires experienced airline captains to assist with this expansion.
 
These positions are open to both B767 and B737 qualified Captains.

  • Conversion to B777 and B787 provided,
  • $18,000 USD per month,

A320 & B737NG CAPTAIN POSITIONS IN CHINA
 
The whole China aviation market is expanding rapidly and Chinese airlines cannot keep up with the demand for experienced airline pilots, and are willing to pay a premium for experienced A320 and B737NG Captains.
 
Longreach China has available many of these positions, all of which offer excellent remuneration and the ability to either live locally, live in Asia and have a short commute, or you can remain in Australia and have a longer commute.

HELICOPTER PILOT REQUIRED FOR NSW FIRE SEASON
 
Casual contract helicopter fire pilot required to be based in Sydney for up-coming fire season. This is primarily for observation and air attack duties and would be required from the middle of August to go onto a suitable roster for successful applicant.

Essential requirements:

  • Ability to satisfy CASA requirements for Head of Training & Checking as detailed in the CASA AOCM.
  • Previous experience and CASA approval as a Check Pilot/Simulator Check Pilot in a High Capacity CAR217 Organisation.
