Chief Pilot - Rotary Wing

Volcanic Air Safaris Ltd is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified helicopter pilots for the position of Chief Pilot – Rotary Wing. The position is based in Rotorua, New Zealand.

 
The work is mainly based around tourism and charter operations using R44 and AS350 helicopters.
 
Pilots MUST have:

  • A minimum of 1500 hours total helicopter time with ATO experience on both the AS350 and R44 aircraft.
  • A minimum of a ‘D’Cat  instructors rating
  • And meet the requirements of CAA rule 119 (Appendix B)

Due to continuing expansion of our student base Airline Academy of Australia is seeking to recruit 2 Flight Instructors to join our team of professional instructors.
 
The Academy is based at Archerfield Airport in Brisbane.  The Academy has a large student base comprising students from Griffith University School of Aviation, Qantas Cadets and self sponsored students.  The Academy is the only Qantas approved Flight Training organization in Queensland.

Operations Controllers


GAMair is seeking expressions of interest  from highly motivated and enthusiastic persons for the role of  Operations Controller to be based at Essendon Airport Melbourne, and possibly at Brisbane Airport.  Reporting to the Operations Manager (Melbourne), you will be instrumental in assisting the company through the up-coming expansion phase.

 
The position plays a key role in the Flight Operations area and holds responsibility for proactively monitoring the daily flying operations across all the bases, utilising information from all stakeholders internally and externally.
 
The Operations Control position is responsible for developing and coordinating disruption management plans to minimize the impact on the Company, passengers and freight.  This involves collaboration to determine the operational and commercial considerations, such as revenue protection, customer care, ground operations, crew fatigue, engineering requirements and any other areas affected by schedule disruption.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Flight initiation including elements of flight planning, flight following, and flight termination.
  • Maintain weather and NOTAM watch.
  • Assign aircraft daily to the various charters contracted, and plan exchanges between bases for scheduled and non scheduled maintenance, and liaise with pilots for unserviceabilities.
  • Maintain aircraft status and movement boards, and liaise with Engineering to plan maintenance slots.
  • Disrupt management providing the best solutions and communications to all stakeholders.
  • Create rosters for Controllers and Pilots to meet the award and Fatigue Risk Management System requirements using AirMaestro, advise pilots of changes, and closely monitor their duty periods.
  • Book crew travel and accommodation.
  • Process charter quote requests in a timely manner and assign aircraft and roster crew when accepted.
  • Maintain currency of fleet GPS data cards and other flight libraries.
  • Data entry of Deck Logs, Flight Logs, Engineering summaries, and all client data.
  • Timely completion of reporting documents including Operation’s checklists and duty handover logs.
  • Activate and initially manage the Company Emergency Response Plan.

Key Skills and Experience sought:

  • The ideal candidate would have a relevant tertiary qualification, hold or have held a CPL, and/or demonstrate experience in a similar role or relevant operational area within aviation.
  • An excellent candidate with significant experience in a similar logistics field will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of aviation regulations, maintenance requirements, flying operations, crew duty limitations, and airport ground handling processes.
  • Knowledge or experience of Operational systems.
  • In depth understanding of the complex inter-relationships in disruption management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a sometimes high pressure and time critical environment.
  • Proven critical information seeking and decision making abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously under general direction.
  • Accuracy and attention to details.
  • Maturity and professionalism in customer service to effectively liaise with International Corporate clients.
  • Confident and proactive, you will be a truly effective communicator with a strong sense of urgency and well-developed decision making and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide flying training in all sequences required for the issue of a  private pilot licence, a commercial pilot licence and night VFR rating (aeroplane)
  • Teach the theory knowledge required to support the training for the private pilot licence, commercial licence and the Night VFR rating (A) as required in the CASA day VFR Syllabus
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge in the licence areas

The New Zealand Air Ambulance Service operates a fixed wing air ambulance service based at the Auckland International Airport, to support existing client demands and provide aeromedical services to new clients throughout New Zealand.

 
The service is operated by Skyline Aviation Ltd, one of NZs most experienced and busiest air ambulance operators.
 
We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Cessna 400 series pilot as a senior Auckland base pilot.
