Position: Chief Flying Instructor / Chief Pilot

The Australian Air League is a nation wide volunteering organisation which aims to encourage Australian youths to pursue their interest in aviation by giving them a place to start flying. We are currently looking for a suitably qualified person to take over the position of Chief Pilot and/or Chief Flying Instructor. Our dedicated team of volunteer instructors and support staff provide training up to PPL and NVFR as well as Day VFR single engine charter. We generally operate on weekends, instructor availability permitting and run flying camps over school holidays up to two times a year. We currently own two Piper Warriors and one Cessna 152.

Minimum Requirements

Chief Pilot

  • 500 hours total time.
  • Minimum 9 months commercial experience. 
  • Does not hold the title of Chief Pilot for another organisation.
  • Current Class 1 Medical

Chief Flying Instructor

  • Grade 1 Flight Instructor Rating (Fixed-wing) with at least 1 year experience as a Grade 1.
  • NVFR rating
  • Current Class 1 Medical

Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in either position however all suitably qualified applicants will be considered. The successful applicant(s) will be required to be assess and approved by CASA as well as undertake a working with children check. The current CFI/CP happy to assist the new applicant during the transition and where he can in the future.

Global Express Captain/Operations Manager Aircraft:Bombardier-BBD-700 Location: Perth

A Perth based company is looking for a Global Express rated Captain to also act in the position of Operations Manager, who will be responsible for both domestic and international trip planning.

Accountabilities This role will work in a small team that all share a common goal to effectively maintain a private VIP chartered aircraft in a safe, compliant and cost effective manner while doing everything possible to maintain schedules and comfort to our passengers.

In this role your main accountabilities will include:

  • Planning international and domestic trip itineraries
  • Performance calculations
  • Visa requirements for crew
  • FBO allocation (with reference to fuel pricing and passenger priorities)
  • Ordering fuel at both domestic and international airports
  • Requesting invitation letters for airports/crew, in particular China/Russia etc
  • Liaise with the selected trip planning service to ensure all handling is arranged and overflight and landing permits are secured appropriately
  • Liaise with management and Chief Pilot for scheduling scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance
  • Organise and schedule IRTs and any other training as required including airport specific training as requested from the Chief Pilot
  • Ensure CANPASS/TSA/E-APIS compliance
  • Complete end of month reports as required

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Licence: Valid CASA ATPL
  • Total flight time: 4500 hours (3000 PIC)
  • Total Jet time: 1000 hours (500 PIC)
  • Total time on type: 500 hours (250 PIC)
  • CASA Medical: Class One
  • Preference will be given to type rated pilots and those with previous operations experience.

Chief Pilot   

Aviair Pty Ltd, an Aviator Group company, is a leading fixed wing aviation company operating a fleet of Cessna C208 Caravans in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of WA. The company is in the process of moving to Low Capacity RPT ASEA operations.  

We are seeking a suitably qualified Chief Pilot to be part of this dynamic company to take ownership of Chief Pilot responsibilities that are integral to the transition to LCRPT Operations. Excellent administrative skills are essential and an application will be well supported with the following aeronautical experience:  

  • 2000 hours flight time in similar operations
  • 1000 hours command in Turbine aircraft
  • CIR with 3 renewals  

Additionally, previous experience as a CP, HOTC or in ASEA operations is desirable but not essential. C – 208  and PC -12 time will be highly regarded.  

The Chief Pilot position has a first year remuneration package of $150,000.00.
