Overview

Manager – Flight Operations

They are currently looking for an experienced Manager Flying Operations to join their team at the Corporate Office based in North Queensland.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking the next step in their career or a sea change to one of the most beautiful spots in Australia.
  
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the management of operational safety and compliance along with oversight and training of all crew.  This role is Head of Flying Operations / Chief Pilot as defined in the Civil Aviation Act and requires prior CASA approval to hold this position.
 
For your application to be competitive, you will have extensive experience in operational management including standards and regulatory affairs and will ideally have chief pilot management experience with a major commercial airline. From a technical perspective, you will have (at minimum) 2000 hours experience in high capacity airline operations, with 1000 hours in command of an aircraft similar to the Dash 8.

China Southern West Australian Flying College (CSWAFC), a joint venture between China Southern Airlines & CAE Oxford Aviation Academy is one of the most productive flying colleges in Australia. Our college is now seeking an appropriately qualified Ground School Manager to head up our Ground School department and meet the needs of our growing business.
 
CSWAFC operates out of two locations, Jandakot Airport South of Perth and Merredin Airport 260 Km’s south of Perth, Western Australia. Our primary goal is to train both ground theory and flight training for China Southern Airline cadets within a 15 month time period.

QUALIFICATION \ SKILLS:

  • At minimum hold CASA approved commercial pilot license with Command Instrument Rating or have held a Command Instrument rating or hold an ATPL

  • Conduct CPL theory courses (CPL1, CPL2 and IREX) in accordance with CASA requirements; maintains course standards and proficiency for each course that is instructed; adheres to all CASA regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Ensure Ground School training documentation and CPL theory documentation are current and amended appropriately
  • Update and maintain the Resource Centre with publications, Manuals and charts etc.
  • Coordinate with planning and dispatch office for scheduling of ground school classes
  • With the Quality Manager, manage and maintain the Company’s manual Suite
  • Assist in ground school activities; attend meetings; perform other duties as assigned

The Role
 
We are currently looking for a permanent Deputy Chief Flight Instructor to join our CSWAFC team full time. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated & have proven ability to ensure the necessary regulatory requirements are adhered to with a demonstrated track record in flight instruction; experience with international instructors and students will be highly regarded
 
The Deputy CFI is responsible to assist and deputise for the CFI in taking responsibility for the conduct of the Flying School.  Key support role in management and supervision of all flying operations, including supervision of flight instructors employed by the company, and ensuring that all flying training operations are fully compliant (with CASA standards) and of a standard reflecting the company objective of training professional airline pilots.

Responsibilities

  • At all times, assist the Chief Flying Instructor in all aspects of operation and compliance of flying training operations
  • Deputise for the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) during her/his absence.  This involves being a point of contact for CASA, and when CASA approved, assuming all regulatory responsibilities of the CFI when he/she is absent on leave.
  • Ensure that flying training operations are conducted in compliance with the Act, the Regulations and the Civil Aviation Orders and that training is conducted in accordance with the approved syllabi.
  • Ensure that all policies both from CASA and CSWAFC are adhered to at all times
  • Participate in the Operations Management Team, including close liaison, planning, teamwork and regular communication with other members.
  • Support the overall supervision/management of the Flight Instructor group.
  • Participate in the company Safety Management Group, in close liaison with both the Safety and Quality Managers.
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge in all licence and rating areas, including GFPT, PPL,CPL, NVFR, CIR, ME. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current Commercial Pilots Licence/Instrument Rating & Instructor Rating issued in accordance with CASA
  • Current CASA Class 1 medical
  • Meets CASA CFI Requirements:
    •  Grade one Flight Instructor rating, with 12 months instructional experience and 200 hours instructional experience as a grade one.
    •  An Instructor rating entitling to instruct on a ME aircraft (META), with 50 hours ME training experience
    •  A current command instrument rating and 250 hours instrument rating training experience
  • Demonstrated instructional skills with strong communication skills
  • Ability to mentor students and instructors, resolve issues & relate to a wide range of student’s needs.

Captain
Narrow and Wide Body Fleet:
 
Valid ICAO ATPL license. Valid instrument rating.
Valid class one medical certificate
English language proficiency level 4 or above
 
Narrow Body Fleet: A minimum of 6,000 hours total flying time, Type rated on A320 Family with a minimum of 1,000 hours in command.
 
Wide Body Fleet: A minimum of 7,000 hours total flying time, of which a Minimum of 2,000 hours in command of multi-crew, multi-engine Jet aircraft in excess of 100.000kg MTOW. This may be reduced to 1000 hours for pilots who are type rated, have a current LPC and are currently flying on B777/B787/A330.
 
First Officer
 
Valid ICAO ATPL or Frozen ATPL license
Valid class one medical
English language proficiency level 4 or above.
A minimum of 1,000 hours in one of the following categories:
Multi crew, multi-engine jet aircraft
Command turbo-prop above 20.000 kg MTOW
High performance military jet. (Multi crew Cooperation Certificate required)

A320 Type Rated Captains
 
CREW Resources Worldwide is seeking non-rated and rated A320 Captains on behalf of Peach Aviation. 
CREW is a crew leasing subsidiary of All Nippon Airways.  
 
Minimum Requirements:  

  • 4,000 TTL
  • 1,500 PIC
  • 1,500 JET PIC (preferred)
  • A320 Type Rating (preferred)
  • Valid ME CIR
  • No history of accidents 

and 
 
B-767 First Officers (Rated or Non-rated)
 
CREW Resources is recruiting rated or non-rated B-767 First Officers for Air Japan.  
 
Minimum Requirements: 

  • 3,000 TTL
  • 2,000 JET preferred, 1,000 JET required
  • 250 PIC
  • 150 max. ICUS applicable toward 250 PIC requirement
  • 100 Cross Country PIC
  • 200 Cross Country
  • 100 Night
  • 75 IMC

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum hours (PIC on B744): 500
  • Minimum hours (total PIC): 2000
  • At least three take offs and landings on B744 aircraft during the past 6 months
  • Current ATPL issued by ICAO member country
  • Current Type Rating
  • Current Class 1 Medical
  • Valid Passport
  • Excellent oral and written English skills and has the ability to achieve ICAO English Level 4 

Contract Term: 2 years, renewable, 28 days or 42 days annual leave, bonus, etc.!
Base: Shanghai China, international routes
