Scholarship Program

The Federation has a long and proud history of supporting aviation students through a university scholarship program in co-operation with a number of academic aviation institutions in Australia. In funding our scholarship program we are joined by the Australian Air Pilots Mutual Benefit Fund (MBF), Australia's premier provider of loss of licence support for commercial pilots.

We look to extend our program to institutions throughout Australia. The following is a list of Universities and Schools we currently offer scholarships through:

How to Become a Pilot

There are several different pilot licences available.

Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) - Available to pilots not wanting to obtain a PPL and to pilots wanting to transfer from the recreational aviation sector to fly registered aircraft.

Private Pilot Licence (PPL) - Allows a holder to pilot an aircraft as pilot-in-command or co-pilot when the aircraft is being operated in a private operation or the holder is receiving flying training.

Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) - A commercial pilot licence authorises you to conduct private and commercial operations.
