In 2010 the AFAP Women’s Network was launched with the aim of providing a forum to identify and pursue industrial and professional issues relevant to our female pilot members. Our Network events provide an excellent opportunity for members to learn about inspiring women in our profession and to network with other female pilots from all corners of aviation.

Planning is underway for AFAP Women’s Network events in 2021. Further details will be provided here.

Cairns Women’s Network Meeting

The AFAP held the first Women's Network meeting in Cairns on Wednesday 21 August.

In attendance we had members from various councils, including Jetstar, Sunstate and more to discuss topics relevant to female pilots and issues they are facing within their council.

AFAP President Captain Louise Pole ran the meeting, giving an industrial update, an update on IFALPA and the Women's Network activities and events coming up.

Attendees were then given the opportunity to ask any questions to the AFAP and to network with fellow members.

It was a great turnout with some new faces coming along to the meeting as well as current and former colleagues.
