Reporting to the Head of Training and Checking, we have a unique opportunity for a PC12 Training and Check Pilot on a full-time basis. This position will be based at Jandakot with frequent travel to other bases (approximately 3 months out of every year) and will provide line training duties, including ground and flight training, as well as checks and tests as designated by the Head of Training and Checking.

About you

  • Ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with others
  • Adopt change management activities to achieve successful outcomes
  • Commercial Pilot Licence or Airline Transport Pilot Licence
  • An aircraft type rating or class rating and aircraft design feature endorsement applicable (or the ability to obtain these)
  • A current instrument rating with IAP2D and IAP3D endorsements
  • A current instructor rating with CLRSEA, DF, IR training endorsements (or the ability to obtain them)
  • A current flight examiner rating with IR testing endorsements (or the ability to obtain it)
  • 3000 hours pilot in command total time
  • 500 hours on type
  • A minimum of 100 hours night flight time
  • A minimum of 100 hours instrument flight time
  • As a valued team member who supports our 24/7 operations, you may be required to work across weekdays, weekends and public holidays on both day and night shifts.

About the role

Flight and Ground Training and Checking duties including-

  • Supervising the flight standards of pilots
  • Conducting flight training for the issuance of a flight review
  • Conducting flight training for the implementation of new procedures
  • Conducting refresher flight training for expired or failed competencies
  • Conducting line training
  • Conducting Operator Proficiency checks as authorised
  • Conducting ground training in any or all of the following-
    • Aircraft systems (ground school) for pilots
    • Bariatric and Neocot systems for pilots and medical transport specialists
    • General emergency training for pilots and medical transport specialists
    • Human Factors/Non Technical Skills for
    • Aircraft ground handling (towing)
    • Other courses as directed by the HOTAC

Note, the successful candidate will be required to fly the line up to a period of 6 months at one of our regional bases.
