About the Role

LifeFlight Air Ambulance is a division within LifeFlight Australia that performs both rapid response and scheduled medical transports 24/7 from Brisbane, Townsville and overseas International Airports. We underpin this fulfilling, exciting career with a working environment in which safety and employee welfare are paramount. We operate world-class equipment and maintenance programs to support our dedicated Air Ambulances.

Due to internal growth and development of the Air Ambulance service, we are looking for full-time First Officers to work from both our Brisbane and Townsville Bases. The roster is 38 days in 60, and we aim for a 4-on / 4-off 24-hour standby (must be able to attend base within 20 mins of callout).

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-managing and proactive First Officer with experience working in remote or regional environments. With an outstanding work ethic, you will have a passion for aviation – and for your own professional development.

This role would suit someone who is hands-on – keeping equipment, craft, and facilities clean and job-ready is an essential part of the job. You will be comfortable using your initiative and working unsupervised.

Essential Criteria includes:

  • CASA ATPL or CPL with MCC
  • Current CASA Class 1 medical
  • Total hours >2000
  • Total multi-engine >1000
  • Total multi-engine turbine >500
  • Total command >1000
  • Total multi-engine command >500
  • 3 IPC renewals (including two CASA MECIR renewals)
  • Current CASA MECIR with minimum 6 months validity

Desirable Criteria

  • Challenger 604 type rating (sign-up benefits provided)

You will be required to hold a current passport with no travel restrictions and no limitations for operations into New Caledonia and USA. Our successful applicant will be required to hold a Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and may be required to undergo mandatory immunisations / vaccinations.
