Airways Aviation is seeking to recruit an experienced Ground Theory Instructor who has the skill and background in delivering aviation theory. The position is an immediate start, fulltime and is located on the Gold Coast.

This is created in consultation with industry, which develops the complete range of technical knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Overview of the Position

The primary responsibility of the Ground Theory Instructor is to develop, prepare and assess our aviation theory including RPL, PPL, CPL and IREX.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality training programs consistent with AQTF standards
  • Deliver structured, flexible, relevant and interesting training sessions and assist all learners regardless of level to achieve their training goals.
  • Ensure all training resources are current inline with CASA and Airways Aviation requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain individual training plans to meet the individuals learning style and level of skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare for, conduct, and document both training delivery and assessment procedures, using approved training delivery plans.
  • Complete and maintain all training records accurately, document assessment results and submit to the appropriate Manager upon assessment for input into student management system.
  • Ensure compliance with the RTO quality accreditation, legislative requirements, and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in reviews to continually improve the RTO quality system and ensures a consistent high quality of training services and information for students.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Cert IV Training and Assessment or a higher qualification in adult education. For more information https://www.asqa.gov.au/faqs/what-constitutes-diploma-or-higher-qualification-adult-education
  • Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane desirable
  • Formal teacher qualification desirable
  • Extensive experience in aviation ground theory covering all theory courses delivered by Airways Aviation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory bodies, CASA, ASQA, the Aviation package writer
  • Experience teaching theory to a wide range of ethnic, cultural and English second language students.
