SAFETY & TECHNICAL OFFICER

Julian works with others in the Safety & Technical (S&T) team to inform and represent the AFAP’s views on regulatory change and other S&T matters affecting aviation.

 

He has broad experience as a pilot in helicopter and fixed-wing general aviation operations having flown for a number of operators in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

 

With more than 17-years of experience at the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as a Flying Operations Inspector, and having served as Chair of CASA's Pilot Council, Julian has extensive regulatory knowledge and practical expertise. He is also an ISO-certified aviation safety lead auditor.

 

Julian has also served two terms on the Board of Directors of the AAP Mutual Benefit Fund (2006-2009 and 2011-2014).
