Qantas’ Network pilots suspend PIA planned for Tuesday

To give Qantas subsidiary Network Aviation every opportunity to come to it senses, the Australian Federation of Air Pilots (AFAP) has agreed to withdraw our notices so that the protected industrial action (PIA) planned for Tuesday 24 October will not go ahead.

The AFAP has also given its assurances that it will provide a window, until close of business on Friday 27 October, during which no PIA will occur.

“If the company’s management is serious, it will spend next week focusing on listening and responding to its pilots to allow a resolution to be reached,” said Senior Industrial Officer Chris Aikens.

“However, if Qantas does not take this opportunity to reach an agreement that is acceptable to both parties, then we have no other option but to escalate with further PIA.”
