Mr Mark Ayrey

Mark Ayrey commenced his flying career during the early 1980s in Far North Queensland. Operating mainly in the low capacity RPT sphere Mark has held roles as check pilot, examiner, safety manager and chief pilot.

In 2004 Mark joined the Qantas Group in a regulatory compliance capacity before returning to flying operations as an A320 F/O.

In early 2010 Mark joined CASA as an Air Transport Flying Operations Inspector moving to a team management role in 2015. Mark was a CASA member of the CAO 48.1 technical working group from 2018 until the publication of CAO 48.1(2019).

In late 2019 CASA established the Fatigue Panel (now known as the Human Performance Team) to assess and approved FRMS and minor variation applications and manage the aviation industry transition to CAO 48.1 more generally.

Mark was appointed as manager of the team.
