Leading Edge mentoring workshop – Coping with scares

AFAP Leading Edge Mentoring Workshop 3 – Coping with Scares

AFAP's New Wings program promotes and advances the interests of the next generation of pilots. It seeks to ensure that pilots in the early stages of their career are effectively supported on the path to a fulfilling profession.

As part of New Wings, we host Leading Edge mentoring workshops covering topics specifically designed for early-career pilots looking to develop their professional knowledge and skills.

Through these mentoring workshops, coupled with our Resilient Pilot project, participants will also be able to access a team of experienced pilots available for ongoing mentoring.

Date:    Thursday 27 August 2026, 19:00 - 20:30 AEST / 09:00 - 10:30 UTC

Presenters:   Capt Philip Remilton Safety & Technical Director / Capt Naomi Radke Safety & Technical Officer & Resilient Pilot Mentor

This workshop will help pilots navigate the challenges of scares, offering support, strategies and shared stories to manage and overcome these kinds of experiences and move forward. As an interactive group we will also discuss various scenarios pilots might typically face. Questions are encouraged, including on career development and progression.

While it will be of most interest to those members in the early stages of their flying career, all AFAP members are most welcome to attend.

Please RSVP to events@afap.org.au to register and receive the Teams link for Workshop 3.
