About the Role

As a Flight Instructor at RMIT Aviation Academy, you will play a vital role in the professional development of our aviation students as they pursue their CASA licences through Associate or Bachelor degrees in Aviation (Pilot Training). You will be responsible for delivering high-quality flight training, ensuring safety, and mentoring students through the early stages of their aviation careers.

You will join a dedicated team operating a diverse training fleet, including:

  • Cessna C172 and C182
  • Piper PA44
  • Super Decathlon G1000-equipped aircraft

Essential Criteria
Candidates must meet the following minimum selection criteria:

  • CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
  • CASA Grade 1 or Grade 2 Flight Instructor Rating (Aeroplane)
  • Class 1 or 2 Aviation Medical Certificate
  • Minimum 500 hours flight experience in aeroplanes
  • Experience operating C172 aircraft with G1000 avionics
  • Night VFR Training Endorsement or Command Instrument Rating Training Endorsement
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency

Desirable Qualifications

  • Design Feature Training Endorsement
  • Instrument Rating Training Endorsement
  • Flight Instructor Rating Training (FIR-FIR)
  • Experience teaching international students
