CL604 Challenger Jet First Officer – Essendon or Perth based

Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia's Search and Rescue (SAR) Services, working under a long-term contract with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), is looking for experienced pilots, who are passionate about making a difference, as First Officers at our Essendon and Perth bases. Our pilots fly in a unique and challenging environment, with a key humanitarian focus aimed at assisting people in potentially traumatic and life-threatening situations.

As a First Officer with the SAR team, you will assist the Captain in providing support to your entire crew, working diligently, quickly, and professionally, to ensure that each mission is a success.

This is not an ordinary pilot job. You will operate a highly modified modern medium business jet, equipped with the most advanced technology ever to be integrated into a civil SAR platform and work with a highly skilled team.

What we need (essential)
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (some nationality restrictions apply due to ITAR requirements).
  • Australian Passport or Passport from a country without travel restrictions.
  • Australian CPL(A).
  • CASA Class 1 Medical.
  • Hold or be eligible to hold an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
  • 1500 hours total flying time.
  • 500 hours total flying time in command/ICUS.
  • 500 hours pilot in command experience in multi-engine and/or turboprop aeroplanes.
Desirable
  • Multi-crew transport category experience will be well regarded.
  • Instructor qualifications will be well regarded.
  • Previous experience in low level flying; SAR or surveillance operations will be well regarded.
In addition
  • You must commit to being within 30 minutes of your assigned airport when on night standby.
  • Type rating training will attract a Bond.
