Headquartered in Nowra, New South Wales, QinetiQ Air Affairs provides targets and training services, and electronic warfare capabilities to the Australian Defence Force, in addition to aerial surveillance and reconnaissance in support of government firefighting efforts. Air Affairs owns and operates a fleet of special mission aircraft and maintains an advanced manufacturing and engineering facility providing design, manufacture and certification operations.

We are currently looking for LearJet Pilots with Lear 30 Series Type Ratings to support a number of operations including our firescan capability. These are contract opportunities for periods of 3 months or more. We are also open to discussions for permanent opportunities.

Our pilots, in supporting a number of special mission’s contracts are usually required to;

  • Be available for on call (short notice 1 – 2 hrs) deployment
  • Pilot an aircraft in support of bushfire mapping, charter or medivac missions
  • Collaborate with your team to plan and deliver the mission
  • Be available for countrywide (and sometimes overseas) travel

What you will bring;

  • A Current ATPL or CPL with MCC (Part 61 CASA Licence)
  • At least 1500 hrs PIC experience
  • A current class 1 medical
  • A current IPC with at least 3 Landings and Take-offs in the last 12 months and a minimum of 20 hours PIC
  • A learJet 30 series type rating and at least 100 hours on type

Some things you will need to consider prior to starting the role;

  • Ideally you would need to be based in the Shoalhaven region for the duration of the contract, but we are open to FIFO options
  • You must have current or recent experience on type or similar type
  • Ideally you will have experience in a scanning or surveying environment
