Head of Operations (HOO) – Darling Downs Aero Club

The Darling Downs Aero Club (DDAC) in Toowoomba, Queensland, is seeking a Head of Operations to lead our training operations. We have a first-rate team including long term instructors, admin staff and our own maintenance operation headed by our HAAMC. This is a full-time role, with weekend work involved. You’ll possess good people skills, a positive, motivated attitude and a strong work ethic. In return we’ll reward you an above award remuneration package dependent on your experience and training capabilities. We are also prepared to develop the right candidate if you are committed to the organisation.

DDAC has trained thousands of pilots since 1946. We have a reputation of practical flying training, flexibility and an ability to focus on the individual’s needs. DDAC is seeking someone to continue building and growing all aspects of our training environment, from RAAus to the Airlines.

Minimum qualifications

  • Commercial Pilot Licence with aeroplane category rating – CPL (A).
  • Single and Multi-engine Aeroplane Class Ratings.
  • Current Flight Instructor Rating with Grade 1 or 2 Aeroplane Training Endorsement.
  • Current Instrument Rating (MEA) with IAP 2D, 3D
  • Night VFR Training Endorsement.
  • Instrument Rating Training Endorsement.

Other Desirable qualifications and experience

  • Multi-engine Aeroplane Class Rating Training Endorsement.
  • Instructor Rating Training Endorsement.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor personnel.
  • Ability to apply competency-based training principles and safety principles to pilot training and Aeroplane operation.
  • Sound knowledge of CASR Part 61 flight crew licensing legislation and CASR Part 141 flight training legislation.
  • Willingness to relocate to Toowoomba.
