Fixed Wing-

Our Fixed Wing team operates four bases in Brisbane, Cairns, Horn Island and Mount Isa and is embarking on significant growth with the introduction of a new fleet. Our team of highly trained personnel includes pilots, engineers, safety specialists and aviation operations specialists who provide safe and efficient frontline government aviation services.

The Aviation Capability Group is seeking an experienced Head of Training and Checking looking for their next challenge to support our Fixed Wing operation. The successful candidate will undertake duties as delegated by the Head of Flying Operations and will be responsible for all areas of the Fixed Wing Training & Checking department, providing leadership and a focus on continuous improvement and maintenance of high standards of operation.

This is a full-time 3-year contract position, located at the Brisbane Airport.

Mandatory Requirements:
Licences & Ratings

  • Hold a current Australian Air Transport Pilots Licence (ATPL)
  • Hold a current Australian Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL)
  • Flight Instructor Rating (FER) – Multi Engine
  • Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating – 4 Renewals

Flight Hours Requirements

  • Minimum 5000 hours total time
  • Minimum 4000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
  • Minimum 1500 hours Night PIC
  • Minimum 1000 hours Multi-Engine PIC
  • Minimum 1000 hours Turbine PIC

Certifications & Documentation

  • Hold or be eligible to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Current Class 1 Aviation Medical
  • Hold a current Australian Passport

Highly Desirable Requirements:
Licences & Ratings

  • Flight Examiner Rating (FER)

Flight Hours Requirements

  • Minimum 800 hours Multi-Crew Operations

Type Ratings

  • B360 Type Rating
  • C208 (or similar) Experience
