Based at Moruya on the stunning NSW South Coast this tailored Flight Training and Charter operation has an opportunity for an established Flight Instructor to step up to the next level in Operational Management. This successful and growing operation, is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified pilots for the position of Instructor Team Leader and Deputy Head of Operations (Immediate start available). This is due to the growth of the business and the diversity in the courses offered.
The Deputy Head of Operations is jointly responsible for all flying operations and for maintaining the safety and compliance of all Company operations.
The successful candidate will be flying a variety of aircraft including singles, multi-engine, light-sport, aerobatic and tailwheel (additional training is available).
Other responsibilities include ensuring the training programs are conducted in accordance with CASA requirements, reviewing all processes, policies and procedures and fostering effective working relationships with all stakeholders as well as managing pilot administration.
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing in the Drug and Alcohol Management Program.
Moruya is a small town centrally located in the Eurobodalla Shire between Wollongong and Merimbula and is a popular destination for Canberra residents and holiday goers. With a population of approximately 10,000 it boasts excellent educational facilities with State and privately run Preschools, Primary and Secondary schools. The area is also well known for its excellent seaside attractions and offers a great lifestyle for singles and families.
The flying school, which was established in 2011, operates as a single and multi-engine Part 141 training organisation operating (and not limited to) Foxbat, C150, Tomahawk, C172xp, Sundowner, Warrior, Bonanza, Decathlon, Savage Cub, Seneca and Chieftain aircraft. Charter is offered in the single and multi-engine aircraft and includes scenic tours.
The successful applicant will be responsible for closely managing all operations and for further developing the flying training already in place.
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 2 Instructor Rating
- Class One Medical
- Full COVID vaccination
- Australia Wide ASIC
- Significant experience in Multi Engine Instrument Rating Training
- Current Instrument rating: MEA, IAP 2D, IAP 3D.
- Tailwheel design feature training approval
- Ability to be accepted by CASA to Hold Chief Pilot Approval for a Charter and Air Work AOC as well as obtain and hold Head of Operations approval for a Part 141 organisation
Desired qualifications:
- Grade 1 Instructor Rating
- CASA approved Flight Examiner
- Aerobatics Training approval
- Formation Training approval
- Demonstrated experience at a management pilot level, including roles such as Chief Pilot
- Significant experience training Flight Instructor’s
