QPC Briefing No 28 2025 – Long Haul EA Negotiations Update

QPC Briefing No 28 2025 – Long Haul EA Negotiations Update

Today the QPC met to discuss and vote on a proposed agreement reached between AIPA and Qantas for the LH EA.

Your AFAP LH EA team had made it clear to Qantas over the last few weeks that further guardrails would be needed on some items in order to progress towards an in-principle agreement. Qantas ultimately did not address the concerns raised by the AFAP and as such, your AFAP LH EA team was unable reach in-principle agreement with Qantas.

The QPC considered this along with the broader and more complex implications of the proposed agreement. Following discussion, the QPC unanimously voted not to endorse the proposed Long Haul EA11 package presented to both the AFAP and AIPA.

Despite this the QPC welcome the opportunity for pilots to have their say on the proposal and to determine the next steps.

Given the complexity of this proposed EA and its varying impact across different pilot groups, the QPC will shortly commence a comprehensive education process to assist pilots in understanding what the proposal means for them both individually and collectively as Qantas Mainline pilots.

The QPC encourages open, informed, and respectful discussion, to ensure every pilot has the information necessary to make their own assessment when voting on the proposed EA.

We look forward to providing more information over the coming weeks leading up to the vote.
