QPC Briefing No 31 2025 – Long Haul EA Negotiations Update - AFAP Explanatory Document

QPC Briefing No 31 2025 – Long Haul EA Negotiations Update

AFAP Explanatory Document

Please find here the AFAP explanatory document regarding the proposed Qantas Long Haul Enterprise Agreement 11 (EA11) agreed between Qantas and AIPA.

This explanatory document is intentionally detailed. The proposal currently on the table is complex, and its implications can vary across fleets, ranks, career stages and individual circumstances. To make an informed decision, it is essential that pilots understand not only the proposed changes themselves, but the context in which they were developed, the alternatives available, and the pathways that may follow.

Our goal is to ensure every pilot has access to the full picture. While the document is lengthy, we strongly encourage all pilots to read it in its entirety. Doing so will provide clarity on the mechanics of the proposed EA, the concessions being sought, the financial impacts for different career trajectories, and the options available should pilots consider the proposal insufficient.

In addition to this document, much of the underlying information and interpretive material will also be built into the AskAFAP AI app. This tool will allow pilots to explore the proposed EA11 changes in greater depth, test different scenarios, and investigate how the package may impact their own circumstances. The app is designed to provide easily accessible, tailored guidance to support pilots in working through the detail at their own pace. We are working to integrate the material, but this takes time and we will update members as we progress.

Having complete information empowers pilots to assess the proposal on their own terms and take ownership of the decision ahead. This document is designed to support that process by providing clear, transparent, and comprehensive analysis. If you have questions or require clarification after reviewing it, support will be available.
