AFAP - 2025 Pilot Survey + Updates Minimum Salary (Piston Engine)

AFAP - Chartair Members Update & Survey Nov 2025

Piston Engine – Addition to Salary

The AFAP has reviewed outstanding underpayment claims regarding pilots previously employed at Chartair, this relates to the piston-engine addition to salary in the Award (and other payments not paid under the Award).

The AFAP and former CEO suggested this matter may be best worked through cooperatively to resolve the difference in interpretation, including with the assistance of the Fair Work Commission.

The AFAP has summarised the matter and engagement to the current Chartair CEO and provided background.

Please find AFAP letter attached here (and annexures here).

The AFAP will also review feedback from the current pilot group, and consider how this issues relates to your current conditions (see survey link below).

Should there be a resolution and/or progress in discussions we will provide updates to members in due course, if the matter proceeds to the Fair Work Commission we will also discuss further.

Addressing the minimum salary, us important to resolve initially in the case there are other outstanding matters that identified by pilots via the AFAP pilot survey (see link below), and other member feedback (or historic matters for previous employees).
