QPC Briefing No 12 2026
LH EA – Explanatory Document Re-Release
Voting on the Long Haul Enterprise Agreement 11 (EA11) is scheduled to open on Friday 10 April at 0900 AEST, almost 5 months since the AFAP Explanatory Document was first produced and released based on the provisional agreed upon terms between AIPA and Qantas, the ‘in-principle agreement’.
Once the final draft was released and the AFAP Qantas Pilot Council (QPC) Committee reviewed the final details, it determined that EA11, as it currently stands, does not provide a fair or adequate proposal to Qantas Long Haul Pilots. Accordingly, the QPC Committee recommended voting ‘No’ on EA11.
Rather than produce an entirely new document, we have elected to re-release this document with some amendments to account for the changes that occurred between the in-principle agreement and the final draft. These have been highlighted throughout this document.
The updated AFAP LHEA11 Explanatory Document is available
here.
The QPC Committee encourages members to re-acquaint yourselves with the material you feel pertinent in order to make an educated and informed vote.
A colour coded QRH style extract from the Explanatory Document has also been attached. This is for those who want to quickly see the concessions Qantas has asked Pilots for, as well as the gains and items that fall in between.
The AFAP’s Quick Reference overview of the proposed changes is available
here.
Should any members have any questions or queries relating to the proposed EA11, please utilise the AskAFAP app, or email
qpc@afap.org.au and the QPC Committee or the Senior Legal/Industrial Officers will be able to field your enquiries.
The explanatory document contains a section titled “The Next Steps” that explains in detail the steps that can follow a NO vote.
We will be releasing further information in the coming days.
