EA11 Negotiations Update
Yesterday, the AFAP participated in the section 240 conference along with Qantas and AIPA representatives. The session was for a half day with the focus on providing AIPA an opportunity to clarify the terms of the package provided to their EA team on Thursday.
The AFAP took the opportunity during the conference to meet with the AIPA representatives, and reinforced our objective of reaching an in-principle agreement that is also supported by AIPA. We also stated that we would consider any improvements or amendments proposed by AIPA that would benefit pilots, provided they do not undermine the overall integrity or value of the package which is based on the direction from members in our two post-no vote surveys.
Further discussions are planned between the Unions next week leading into a further full day conference at the Fair Work Commission next Wednesday. As we stated in our previous communications, until we have finalised the Commission conciliation process it would be inappropriate to provide details of the package.
