Airnorth Pilot AFAP Meeting - Sunday 16 July 2023

Airnorth Pilot AFAP Meeting - Sunday 16 July 2023

We recently sent you an update in relation to the automatic termination of your enterprise agreement and to tell you that the AFAP would be in Darwin to discuss with Airnorth Pilots what this termination means. That update can be accessed here.

The details of the Airnorth Pilot/AFAP meeting are:

Date: Sunday, 16 July 2023

Time: 1300 - 1700

Venue: Committee Room - The Darwin Sailing Club - 8 Atkins Drive, Fannie Bay

There will be refreshments during the meeting, and we invite you to stick around for a beer on us afterwards.

The meeting is open to any non-AFAP members at Air North who might be interested so please extend this invitation to them.

Andrew Molnar (Legal Counsel of the AFAP) and Captain Marcus Diamond (Manager of Safety and Technical at the AFAP, and ex-Airnorth pilot from the 90s) will be leading the meeting. We will be discussing a range of matters with you, including:

  • What will happen on 7 December 2023 if your enterprise agreement terminates
  • What the Air Pilots Award 2020 would look like for Airnorth Pilots
  • What a new enterprise agreement could look like for Airnorth Pilots
  • A short update on the new laws around bargaining and what your rights are
  • What Airnorth Pilots can do to protect and improve their entitlements
  • What options are available to Airnorth Pilots

The main messages we would like you keep in mind are:

  • You are in a unique bargaining situation that you can use to your advantage
  • Acting collectively as an Airnorth Pilot group increases your advantages
  • Your rights are strengthened by the new bargaining laws

Please contact andrew@afap.org.au or marcus@afap.org.au, or call us on (03) 9928 5737, if you have any questions.

Let us know if you are coming - it would be great to see you there.

Regards
AFAP Industrial/Safety & Technical
