EA Update No.22 – Suspension of PIA to Continue
Further to the AFAP Negotiating Team suspending PIA, to establish if urgently organised talks with Qlink could make significant progress, we can report that we held a meeting with the Qlink Management Team for the whole of yesterday afternoon.
On the basis that these talks produced some real movement from the company, we have agreed to hold a further meeting next week (Wednesday 11th) and to continue with the suspension of notifying Industrial Action until that meeting has been held.
We know some members have expressed unease that the company has been merely trying to buy time with this tactic. We can assure members that the progress made yesterday (during at times quite animated discussions) was real and positive. While the movement from the company has not addressed every aspect of our core three claims to our satisfaction, we remain hopeful that the company will recognise that striking a deal will be eminently more preferable than seeking to ignore the outstanding PIA ballot result recently delivered by Sunstate Pilots.
We shall of course keep you closely advised of the outcome of this meeting and once again thank all members for resolutely standing tall and firm in their determination to see an EA for Sunstate pilots that addresses the real pressures you are facing.
THANK YOU and CONTINUE TO REMAIN
STRONG AND UNITED
