PAID TIME MEETING INVITE

There will be a paid meeting from 12noon to 1:30pm NSW time on Wednesday the 31st of January for all Union Members. This meeting will give us the opportunity to go though the Agreement and determine our position on the ballot. As this is a paid meeting all staff are able to attend during paid work time as it has been approved by management.

Paid Meeting: 12noon (NSW time) Wednesday 31st January 2024

All staff will be provided with a final copy of the Agreement 7 days before the ballot. However, it should be noted that during that “access period” there can be no changes to the wording of the Agreement before it goes to ballot.

CASA - FOI/FTE Level 1 Endorsement - Wording Changes

CASA has proposed a change to the FOI/FTE Level 1 endorsement loading to refer to Part 121 rather than simply an air transport certificate, for purpose to keep up with terms in the regulations.

The AFAP seek member feedback, whether the CASA proposed wording potentially would impact access to the endorsement loading. CASA feedback to unions is that the status quo will remain, and is not a material change (see comments below).

Following up from this morning’s phone call regarding the drafting change in the Level 1 endorsement loading descriptor, I can confirm that a review has been done and no-one currently receiving the Level 1 endorsement loading will be impacted by the clarification in the wording. Furthermore, I have been advised that inserting the additional words will not impose any limits on eligibility for new staff beyond what existed prior to the change in regulations.

The update clarifies the status quo and does not represent a change in entitlements.
