EA Update No31 – EA Approved and Operational from 25th Jan

As you would have seen the Sunstate Enterprise Agreement has been approved by the Fair Work Commission and becomes operational from 25th January 2024, which will be welcome news for everybody and a testament to the unity and strength of the pilot group.

On the mechanics of the implementation there are of course three immediate key areas. Firstly you go onto a new rate of pay in the first full pay period after the commencement. Then you will have back pay dependent on when these can be actioned by payroll and lastly of course will be introduction of the 10 days off that will occur from R2 (from 29th Jan). With the buy back scheme this will of course show up initially as 9 days off and the additional one day being paid back to the pilot.

How this will look on the pay slip is as yet unknown but your Pilot Council will of course be monitoring the implementation of this new agreement including the opt-in process for those pilots wanting to move onto the DHAA (time away from home base) which is to be operational from April.

We shall of course be keeping you advised of developments.
