Council Secures Duty Travel Improvements

Duty Travel Improvements

After your Council having for some time been raising the topic of duty travel improvements to NJS, we are pleased that following the last town hall held on 1st May, they have now confirmed changes to duty travel and not paxing in a middle seat.

It was confirmed that the night before a paxing duty the ROC will pre-allocate a window or aisle seat when on duty travel. Unfortunately gate agents still have the ability to change staff out of the window or aisle seat.

This improvement has been as a direct result of your Council ensuring member feedback and comment was provided to the company and thereafter we kept pressing this matter as a simple solution that would assist members and provide adequate seating when paxing.

As this is a new arrangement your Council relies on member feedback should any problems be encountered. If you are allocated a middle seat ensure you record the date and flight number, plus any explanation/information from the gate agent on the day and provide the details to any of the Council reps.

The Council will of course continue to campaign for further improvements to duty travel.

As always, your NJS Council is here for you.
