Pel-Air MEMBERS UPDATE 28 May 2024
PEL-AIR UPDATES
The AFAP EB Team and Pel-Air bargaining representatives continue to work through enterprise bargaining, with a Pel-Air Aeromedical enterprise agreement now taking shape, there are key matters now becoming a focus. An AFAP EA update will be provided separately to this update, including the indicative timeframes and approaches to the key matters such as remuneration and rostering. More updates to come.
PILOT FATIGUE MANAGEMENT
The AFAP Safety and Technical team thank the pilot group for all the input into the AFAP fatigue management survey in March 2024. The data from the survey has been analysed to produce a detailed report, the AFAP Pel-Air Aviation Aeromedical Pilots Fatigue Management Survey Report: March 2024.
The report has been provided to Pel-Air Head of Flying Operations (HOFO) in mid-May, including a request this report to be tabled with key safety management Pel-Air representatives. The AFAP are awaiting on confirmation from the HOFO and Pel-Air who will be meeting with our AFAP Safety and Technical Team to discuss the report.
A copy of the AFAP Pel-Air Aviation Aeromedical Pilots Fatigue Management Survey Report: March 2024 is attached to this update.
CCTV DEVICES IN FLIGHT DECK (NSW & VIC)
The AFAP has continued to seek engagement with NSW Ambulance regarding their position on the implementation of recording devices in the flight deck. NSW Ambulance has acknowledged the AFAP correspondence and were reviewing the appropriate contacts to participate in a meeting with the AFAP to discuss our concerns.
The AFAP understand, that there are also continuing discussions between Pel-Air and Ambulance Victoria about their implementation of flight deck recording. We are awaiting further updates on what is proposed.
The AFAP encourage members in both NSW and Victoria to update the AFAP with any information related to these matters.
AFAP PILOT REPRESENTATIVES
The AFAP EB Team currently includes the assistance of the AFAP Pel-Air representatives, Zach Buckle and Gerald Taffs (both based in Essendon, Victoria).
