Consultation on Fleet Transition

Transition to an all 400 Fleet – Consultation with AFAP Commenced

Yesterday members will have received the flurry of communications from Qlink relating to the not unexpected announcement of the movement to a single 400 fleet across Eastern and Sunstate.

While this is welcome news as it ensures that all pilots will at some point move onto the higher remunerated fleet, it does of course raise questions regarding the process of that movement of flight crew onto the replacement aircraft.

Consequently the company yesterday commenced consultation with your AFAP pilot Council and reiterated assurances that the replacement aircraft would have no impact on establishment numbers or current pilot bases operating within Qlink.

The company has provisionally agreed for a further meeting with your pilot council representatives towards the end of next week to enable both Council feedback and more importantly general member feedback to be discussed before the finalised transition plans are circulated.

In light of this ongoing consultation and having now read and digested the ongoing information supplied by Qlink all members are encouraged to raise questions and concerns with any of your pilot council representatives or the AFAP directly. The intention will then be to collate this feedback and channel it into this ongoing consultation.

Your Representatives are:

Nathan Hayes (Chair); Ben Moss (Vice Chair); Tim Anderson; Shabbir Parekh; Brendan Quaife; Jess Chong;
Maddie Bartlett.

In addition to your Council Committee member there is AFAP staff member Chris Aikens on chris@afap.org.au. The AFAP Member Assistance Program (MAP) can be contacted via Freecall 1300 307 912
