AFAP Update - Rex Saab, B737

In light of the events of the past 24 hours, the AFAP Rex Council intends to host meetings for our members at Regional Express and Rex Airlines.

We believe it’s important to have the opportunity to hear directly from members – feedback, questions, concerns – and also for you to hear directly from us, so that we can discuss our expectations for the administration process, talk about the process for accessing guaranteed entitlements, and pass on guidance and information about employment prospects for those pilots who have been made redundant. We also wish to hear from members if there are any areas regarding employment or redeployment you wish us to pursue particularly.

We realise you might have some “meeting fatigue” after Wednesday – and there is no obligation to attend. However, we hope it will be beneficial for those who do wish to attend. The meetings are intended to be an open forum: while there are things we aim to cover in each meeting, the rest of each meeting is to be guided by the members who attend. Indeed, we’re more than happy for a considerable portion of the meeting to be an opportunity for members to connect with each other.

Two meetings are to be held – please feel free to attend either or both, as is convenient for you.

  • 1000 (AEST – UTC+10) Thursday 1 August - Please check your email closer to the time for a meeting link
  • 1500 (AEST – UTC+10) Thursday 1 August - Please check your email closer to the time for a meeting link

The welfare of our members remains our first priority – whether or not you are able to attend one of these meetings, please don’t hesitate to contact any of your representatives, or the AFAP Member Assistance Program.
