AFAP Update - CAE Response to Award Matters

CAE Members Update - CAE Response Re Award Application Issues

The AFAP wrote to CAE on the 18 July 2024 due to a range of Award application concerns including;

  • Training Cost matters
  • Individual Flexibility Agreements (within contracts)
  • Related changes in Remuneration
  • Accident Insurance
  • Loss of Licence Allowance application

*see AFAP members update on 18 July for details.

The AFAP expected a response from CAE on 1 August 2024, but granted CAE additional time initially to respond to the AFAP early this week.

On Monday 5 August, a lawyer representing CAE (From Employsure) contacted the AFAP seeking details of documentation and AFAP member names relating to the matters above.

The AFAP will not be providing those details, as all matters broadly impact all the pilots and require no individual information to investigate and consider resolutions.

The AFAP further believe that CAE has in its own possession all information and documentation relating to these matters (it is not in the AFAP possession). If necessary, the AFAP may utilise legal steps to access the documentation and are consideration our options pending the next CAE response.

The AFAP position is that we expect a response by close of business Wednesday regarding what CAE is willing to do to resolve the concerns raised, further updates to come.

Please do not hesitate to reach out for assistance to AFAP via email to Industrial Officer, Jason Newell at Jason@afap.org.au.

Yours Sincerely,

The AFAP Industrial Team
