AFAP - Bonza Aviation Liquidation Update

Bonza Aviation Liquidation - Update 31 Oct 2024

The AFAP remain a member of the Committee of Inspection (COI) regarding the liquidation of Bonza Aviation Pty Ltd.

AFAP Industrial Officer, Jason Newell attended a recent COI meeting held on Tuesday 29 Oct 2024. The liquidator (Hall Chadwick), provided updates on the ongoing progress including the intention to pursue outcomes for creditors as per options available under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).

AFAP members have submitted proof of debt, therefore you continue to remain creditors after the Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) scheme payments. Unpaid amounts owing to members are due to FEG salary/notice caps only paying partial payments to some members, and/or no payments of outstanding allowances, entitlements and superannuation not paid by FEG. The liquidator also sought approval from the COI regarding updated expenses as administrator, and the new expenses as liquidator that have incurred to date.

The AFAP were informed there will be another COI meeting around December 2024. We expect this meeting to be an update regarding the liquidators next steps and advise members in advance not to expect definite outcomes by this time. We will continue to update members in due course as further information comes available.
