AFAP - Alliance Group (NT) Survey

Pay & Conditions
What's Your Preference?

In recent weeks, the AFAP has been copying you and other AFAP members who work for the Alliance Group in Darwin, into our national updates about the progress (or more accurately, the lack of progress) in the three enterprise agreement (EA) negotiations that are currently underway - in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

At this point, none of those proposed enterprise agreements will cover any Pilot working in Darwin!

Early in the South Australian negotiations, nearly twelve months ago, the Pilot Representatives suggested that an option for their proposed enterprise agreement was to expand the coverage, to be a national agreement, or failing that, to at least include Darwin based Pilots. However, Alliance Group management replied at the time with an emphatic 'No' to both proposals!

Clearly, since that time, Alliance Group management has done nothing to significantly improve your overall pay and conditions. It would seem that they are quite content to leave you under the provisions of the Air Pilots Award 2020, for as long as they can.

In light of that situation, & noting that the negotiations in Queensland still have not been finalised, even after 18 months of negotiations, it is highly likely that a 'stand alone' EA just for Darwin Pilots is still a long way off!

Given that unfortunate situation, the AFAP wants your feedback, along with every other AFAP member in Darwin. We have put together a short survey, with only two very simple questions, that should only take 60 seconds to complete.

It is essential though that all Darwin members respond in the survey, because your responses will provide the AFAP crucial information.

Access the survey via this link [link removed].

(NOTE: The survey will close at 1030 ACST on Tuesday 26/11).

In the interim, if you have any questions, please contact AFAP Senior Industrial Officer James Mattner (james@afap.org.au).
