AFAP & Skippers EA Bargaining Meeting
Following pilot discussions, the AFAP will be meeting with Skippers management in another enterprise bargaining meeting at 1.00PM AWST the same day.
For your background, the last meeting was an online meeting with the AFAP and Skippers management on 10 June 2025 and the AFAP has promoted the pilots views that the new EA requires fair remuneration and life style benefits.
This meeting focused on key areas to progress the agreement, the remuneration needs a minimum (not just CPI), to include retention strategies & rostering rules to support work life balance, rest and recreation). The AFAP provided general updates on the standby/reserve duty & Award interpretation, but also due to decisions the EA required clear hours of work guidance (average of hours) and additional pay in case extra hours are worked in that period.
The next meeting with the AFAP and Skippers management will continue with discussions on the matters raised above.
Pilot Roster Issues (Trial and/or EA)
The AFAP has been requesting Skippers management to implement a roster trial without support. The AFAP view it is best to continue to keep this discussion going with the pilot group and work on some tangible offers to be presented to Skippers management, either as a trial to new rostering practices and/or new rostering practices in the new EA.
