About the Role

We’re seeking a driven and experienced Alternate Head of Operations to oversee all aspects of our flight school’s day-to-day operations. This pivotal leadership role ensures the smooth running of flight training activities, operational efficiency, and full compliance with CASA and RTO standards. You’ll work closely with the Head of Operations and company directors to uphold our reputation for excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all operational activities across flight and ground training
  • Ensure compliance with CASA, RTO, and safety management system (SMS) requirements
  • Oversee scheduling, aircraft utilisation, and maintenance coordination
  • Lead and mentor operations and administration teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational systems and training support
  • Support the CFI and Head of Training in achieving training and performance objectives

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation or flight training operations
  • CASA Grade 1 Flight Instructor Rating
  • Sound knowledge of CASA regulations, flight training environments, and SMS principles
  • Proven leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Aviation or management qualification (advantageous)
