  • The ability to reside in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane and deploy to one of our operational bases.
  • 14 days on / 14 days off fly in fly out roster —the off period includes one day of paid travel out and one day of paid travel home
  • One 21 day on period each calendar year to provide equal access to peak holiday periods
  • Capacity to take continuous work breaks of up to 6 weeks

Airborne Solutions Australia provides fixed-wing border surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force. This is the world’s largest outsourced civil maritime surveillance operation, patrolling Australia’s 8.2 million square kilometre Exclusive Economic Zone, operating 10 Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft from our bases in Cairns, Darwin, and Broome.

As a Captain with the Surveillance team, you will provide essential leadership and support to your entire crew, working diligently, quickly, and professionally, to ensure that each mission is a success. You will command a highly modified regional turboprop airliner, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and work with a highly skilled team.

What we need (essential)

  • Australian citizen and current passport
  • CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical
  • Australian ATPL(A) and Instrument Rating
  • At least 2000 hours total flying experience
  • At least 500 hours pilot in command fixed wing
  • At least 500 hours multi-engine turbine experience
  • At least 100 hours multi-crew flying in command
  • Instructor qualifications will be well regarded
  • Eligibility for both an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC) and an Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA Baseline)
