Full time, Monday to Friday operations
$140-160k total comp + travel allowances + QF Gold Status

About the role

Fly2health (F2H) is a national leader in delivering healthcare to over 100+ regional and remote communities, as the Commercial Pilot & Director, Safety & Standards at F2H, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance within our aviation operations. F2H operates 18 aircraft across 6 bases.

This full time position, based in Melbourne, will see you first and foremost: leading our pilots, the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and systems to drive continuous improvement across our aviation services; whilst keeping your flying skills close to the ground flying our missions.

What you'll be doing

  • Fly 3 times per week to understand the high requirement and standard for F2H flying
  • Lead pilots in 6 bases to achieve safe, high quality outcome for clinicians and patients across the country
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the company's aviation safety management system (Aerotalon)
  • Overseeing and lead new aircraft acquisition, including compliance, insurance and safety
  • Conduct yearly in-house OPCs in accordance to F2H standards with each pilot
  • Ensuring the company's aviation operations comply with all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Providing strategic guidance and advice to senior management on aviation safety and compliance matters
  • Fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organisation
  • Current SEA, MEA and IPC, Class 2 medical, minimum 5000 flying hours
  • FE preferred and conduct IPC for each pilots in house

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience in an aviation safety leadership role leading pilots, preferably within the GA or airline industry
  • A flexible, open minded and practical approach to solving aviation challenges within a scale up operation
  • Thorough understanding of aviation safety regulations and standards, including CASA regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing effective safety management systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders such as CASA
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and empower a team
