First Officer Robin Darroch is Vice President (Membership) and served as the AFAP's Regional Express Council Chair from its inception, until October 2025. Before that, he served on the AFAP's Victorian Branch since 2009.
He oversaw several Enterprise Agreement negotiations at Regional Express (Rex) and supported fellow pilots through the Rex Group's Voluntary Administration in July 2024.
Working with colleagues on the AFAP Executive and with the Australian Electoral Commission, in 2023 Robin successfully proposed a Working Paper to the AFAP Annual Convention to overhaul the AFAP rules governing elections of Council Representatives and office holders, to ensure more democratic representation of AFAP members.
Robin's aviation career has included work as a flight instructor in Phoenix, Arizona, USA; flying Piper Chieftains in Port Hedland, WA; and as a Saab 340 Training Captain with Rex, where he worked for more than 18 years. In late 2025, he left Rex to take up a position as an Airbus A220 First Officer with National Jet Systems.
