PRESIDENT

The AFAP President coordinates the industrial and technical activities of the union. The President liaises with the Vice-Presidents, Trustees, the S&T Director, Welfare Director and Council Chairs regarding the operations of the Federation.

In October 2018 Capt Louise Pole was elected as the 32nd AFAP President. Re-elected in 2022, she is currently serving her third term. Capt Pole is one of only two women elected President of a pilot association in the world and is currently the only woman President in office. Capt Pole is a Dash 8-400 captain with Sunstate Airlines.

Throughout her 22-year career with Sunstate she has flown the Shorts 360, Dash 8-100, 200, 300 and 400. Capt Pole has served on the Sunstate Pilot Committee since 2004, was a member of the EA bargaining team from 2005-2015 and served as Sunstate Council Secretary from 2012-2018.

Prior to becoming President, Capt. Pole served with dedication for more than ten years as Vice-President (Administration & Finance). In 2010 she established the AFAP Women's Network, providing a forum to identify and pursue industrial and professional issues relevant to women members.
